Industrial – Fire Safety engineering/consultancy for Oil & Gas projects (both Onshore & Offshore). Involved in preparation of fire and safety related engineering documents such as Fire & Safety philosophy, Fire & Gas detection philosophy, C&E matrix, Firewater adequacy calculations, specifications and data sheets for fixed and portable Fire fighting systems/ equipment, Passive fire protection (Fireproofing) requirements, etc, as well as fire safety related drawings/ layouts. Projects include O&G facilities, Pipeline projects, Port Terminal, etc.
Buildings – Abhay has also worked on infrastructure projects (Buildings, Hospitals, Port terminal buildings, Malls, Warehouse complex) providing fire & life safety related deliverables such as Fire & Life Safety strategy reports and layouts, review of fire protection shop drawings, site verification and testing of systems, etc. He has also been involved in projects requiring performance based engineering options/ solutions.
Due to his familiarity with various codes (NFPA 101 & suite of other NFPA codes, NBC Part 4, etc), he can provide code consulting for projects. At the same time, his core competence and knowledge of fire fundamentals and growth, material behavior, and fire suppression allows him to offer performance based design solutions, where prescriptive code-based designs may not work.
